The tent is promised before the truck is loaded.
A Saturday that was booked twice means a client standing in an empty yard. Slotward takes the quantity off the shelf for the dates they reserved and holds a security deposit on your Stripe account.
No card to start. No sales call. The party rentals preset is selected on the next step. You can still pick a different one.
Six tents is not infinite
The preset puts six tents and twenty table sets on the shelf. A booking for more than what's left on any day in the range is refused.
Sunday morning is the next pickup
The return date is the morning the gear comes back. That date is not part of the rental, so another event can start the same morning.
Keep part of the deposit when a pole is bent
Release the rest, capture a portion, or keep the whole deposit. The reason is stored with the booking.
What the preset fills in
These are starting values. Every service, hour, and sentence can be edited after the shop exists.
- 10×10 tent, quantity 6, and a table set, quantity 20
- A day rate plus a security deposit on each
- Cancel before the pickup date and the deposit is released
- Monday–Saturday, 9:00 to 5:00
Questions
Why isn't every deposit just an authorization?
An uncaptured card authorization expires after 7 days. If the return date is 7 days away or sooner, the security deposit is an authorization. If the return is farther out, it is charged when the rental is booked and refunded when you release it.
Does Stripe charge the day rate too?
No. Checkout moves the security deposit only, as a direct charge on the shop's connected account. The day rate is shown so the renter knows the total. Collecting that amount is between you and the renter.
